TUI AG has a new management structure in its Spanish source market. Dr. Ralf Corsten, TUI Group executive director said: TUI Espana S.A. concentrated last year on the integration of the incoming business of the British and Scandinavian tour operators belonging to World of TUI, and the Spanish business of the French Group subsidiary Nouvelles Frontieres. This chapter has now been successfully concluded. Corsten added that changes in personnel and the management structure were now needed to handle the new challenges. The previous director general of TUI Espana, Shaun Powell, therefore leaves the company and hands over his responsibilities to the former head of the incoming business, Eduardo Zamorano. IT director Steve Jeffrey also leaves the management board. These moves were ordered by the administrative board of the company under the direction of TUI Group executive director AG board member Dr Ralf Corsten.

There will now only be four instead of six managers on the new management board. In addition to his new role as director general, Eduardo Zamorano will continue to run the incoming business. Jose Gonzales will be responsible for the Finance and IT departments, and reports directly to Zamorano. The responsibilities for the other departments remain unchanged: Alvaro Caunedo will continue to be in charge of Travel Agencies and Tour Operators; Josep Anton Grases stays as the head of Human Resources.

TUI Espana S.A. arose in June 2002 from Ultramar Express, a TUI Group incoming agency. Its main business is providing incoming services at Spanish destinations for the tour operators belonging to World of TUI. Last year alone, TUI Espana looked after around five million holidaymakers. In addition, the company also owns four tour operators – Ambassador, Expomundo, Nouvelles Frontieres Spain and TUI Costas e Islas – as well as 80 TUI Centro de Viajes travel agencies. It also operates a fleet of 120 coaches and a car hire company with approximately 5,000 vehicles on the Balearic Islands. TUI Espana recorded a total turnover of EUR 262.7 million last year.
