VLM Airlines, the largest carrier serving London`s City Airport, has announced that it will be operating a new service from London City to Jersey, commencing on 30th June 2004.

The new service will be a continuation of the route currently operated by FlyBe, which will be terminated on 16th June. The new operation means that VLM Airlines now connects the heart of London with seven destinations including Manchester, Liverpool, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Brussels, Luxembourg, and now Jersey.

VLM Airlines will operate a business orientated schedule originating in Jersey with three flights each way on weekdays, once on Saturdays, and twice on Sundays. Flights will depart from Jersey at 07:00, 14:50, and 18:10 on weekdays and similarly from London City at 08:40, 16:30, and 19:50. For bookings made before 30th June 2004 for departures until 30th September 2004, VLM Airlines has special rates.

Titus Johnson, VLM UK Regional Manager comments, After starting the London City to Liverpool service in February we had not anticipated further growth so quickly but this opportunity was simply too good to turn down. With our main operating base at London City and an ideally sized aircraft in the Fokker F-50, we are confident that we can bring the hallmarks of VLM Airlines – punctuality, reliability and great service – to the Jersey route.

He continues, With 59 banks and 33,000 registered companies in Jersey, and the Docklands and City of London just a short bus ride from City Airport, VLM Airlines is very much looking forward to bringing the two financial centres closer together while providing all the benefits of a business class service at very competitive prices.
