After their successful initial four years, concentrating on luxury safaris and holidays to Australia and Africa, demand for Exceptional Travel's personal and specialist service has grown through little more than word of mouth.
Exceptional Travel, a luxury tour operator based in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, have recently expanded their range of destinations to include Arabia and The Indian Subcontinent. The number of clients travelling with them continues to increase, particularly those from the USA.
After their successful initial four years, concentrating on luxury safaris and holidays to Australia and Africa, demand for Exceptional Travel’s personal and specialist service has grown through little more than word of mouth. As a result they have recently taken on Susie Reynolds, based in London, who has previously worked for Bailey Robinson where she introduced holidays to Sri Lanka in 2005, and Scott Dunn, where she managed the India & Arabia team for six years.
“We wanted to take on someone who knew the travel world and would complement our current areas of expertise” explains Toby Warren, Founder and MD of Exceptional Travel. “As she specialises in Arabia, the Indian Ocean and the Indian Subcontinent, Susie fits ideally into the company.” In addition to the strengths that these two give the company, Laura Jeffrey, who previously managed the Asia department at Cazenove & Loyd, will be consulting for Exceptional Travel’s enquiries for the Far East. “We believe that our similar backgrounds, outlook and personal values will combine to enable us to offer an even better, caring and widely experienced service to our guests.”
“Our clients enjoy exploring the countries they visit and this very much reflects the market trend toward demand for learning more at first-hand about their chosen destination. Introducing Arabia and the Indian Sub-Continent will allow us to offer an ever increasing number of face to face encounters with local people such as meeting Bedouins in Oman or walking amongst the tea pickers in Sri Lanka.”
A particular area of growth for the company has been business from the USA. “Our guests from the U.S. enjoy very experiential travel and it is essential that we respond to this demand if we are to continue to grow the business” says Warren.
Toby Warren set up The Exceptional Travel Company in 2009, after his then employer, Tim Best, was acquired by Original Travel. Having had experience both of guiding clients and of managing lodges and camps in Africa, Toby spent seven years with Tim Best, travelling the breadth of the African continent as well as launching the company’s Australian product in 2004.
Between Warren, Reynolds and Jeffrey, Exceptional Travel offer over 30 years’ experience within some of the best companies in the business. Coming together they have been cited as part of the next generation of luxury travel – a company small enough to take a personal interest in each of their clients but big enough, in terms of knowledge and experience, to offer an unparalleled and reliable service.
