HG2’s new mobile apps for on-the-go travellers

For the intelligent traveller, HG2’s apps now include 14,000 venues across 49 cities to choose from and 8 categories, with images for every single reviews.

The always in-the-know and up-to-date city guide series has launched its new mobile applications available for iPhone, iPad and iPad mini – one of the largest HTML5 apps ever launched.

For the intelligent traveller, HG2’s apps now include…

  • 14,000 venues across 49 cities to choose from and 8 categories, with images for every single reviews
  • Dual development for iPhone and iPad, the iPad version even switches formats as you tilt the iPad
  • Maps for a snapshot of where’s hip and where’s not. You can also use them to steer you between places. Oh, and don’t worry about getting lost – we’ve stuck with Google maps!
  • Itineraries so you can plan and build your trip before you go or add your favourite places to a trip diary to remember where you went when
  • New search functionality – either define your style in our Inspired Search page, according to your taste (achingly hip, neighbourhood vibe, old school), your budget or the type of venue you’re looking for. If that doesn’t work for you, try the innovative Image Search, which offers a photographic search of a city.
  • Reviews and ratings  – so that users can become Hg2 reviewers with our in-built rating system and comment boxes to share with other users how you think venues really stack up
  • Share your favourite places on our app to Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn friends
  • City Utilities – useful city information including emergency numbers and a currency converter.

Whether you’re shopping in Milan, partying in Miami or working in Baku, all 49 cities and ski resorts are individually downloadable to your portable devices, so your insider’s guide to the most exciting and interesting hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs, shops, sights and spas is right at your fingertips.

Each city has approximately 200 hotels, bars restaurants, clubs, shops and spas to chose from so users will never be stuck for something to do.
