Oakland County route to provide a first-class alternative for travelers.
CHICAGO – Lakeshore Express Aviation has announced they will start flight service between Oakland County International Airport (PTK) and Chicago Midway (MDW) on June 7, 2013.
Lakeshore Express operates out of private terminals at both airports, eliminating the time and hassle associated with flying out of Detroit Metro Airport. Flights on Lakeshore Express’ Saab 340b will run Thursday through Sunday between destinations.
“Travel between Chicago and metro Detroit has always been a trade off; spending 6 hours in a car or driving to Detroit Metro airport, arriving at least an hour early, the time and hassle of security screening, that can take at least 5 hours as well,” said Greg Stallkamp, CEO, Lakeshore Express. “Our service from Oakland County Airport makes flying to Chicago a truly great experience.”

Founded in 2009 by Stallkamp, Lakeshore Express offers first-class legroom for all passengers, free snacks and cocktails, in addition to a Bags-Fly-Free policy, in accordance with weight restrictions. They will continue to operate their Chicago Midway to Pellston, MI route, serving Northern Michigan and Chicago residents.
