As part of its continued efforts to become the number one car rental organisation in the Middle East, Dollar has launched the formal inauguration of its first Sharjah outlet. Located in Bank Street, the new branch is set to appeal to corporate customers and is predicted, in true Dollar style, to take the lion’s share of the business sector’s rental requirements. The next Sharjah outlet, due to open next month, will be located at the airport and will cater to a different market, notably that of the tourist market.

Reflecting the growing demand from Middle East residents for reliable vehicle rental, Dollar acquired over one thousand new cars in 2005 and its current UAE vehicle stock now totals an impressive 2000. In addition to the new rental outlets in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah, there will also be an increased emphasis on the company’s luxury line over the coming months, which will include Jaguar and BMW models.

“We are expanding across the UAE in style,” said Girish Madhavan, branch manager, Dollar Sharjah.

“With our newly operational ‘elite range’ we are putting an entirely new spin on the Sharjah car rental market. Combined with our standard range, which offers genuine value for money, and our convenient location, we hope to monopolise the local market within a matter of months.”

“This is a very exciting time for Dollar and, through the execution of a strategic game-plan which includes targeting the smaller – albeit fast growing – markets as well as Dubai and Abu Dhabi, we hope to become the region’s leader by the close of this year,” commented Sumit Chopra, general manager, Dollar Rent A Car.

“Dollar is committed to providing the highest standards of service and staff at our call centre will aim to offer immediate and comprehensive solutions to all of our valued customers,” concluded Chopra.
