Further expansion Dubai 2005 air show

Chalet space at Dubai 2005, the ninth international aerospace exhibition, is being increased to meet growing demand at this year’s show.

Nine additional double-storey chalets will be provided by the Department of Civil Aviation, Government of Dubai, following a request from Dubai 2005 organisers Fairs & Exhibitions (F&E), which has taken reservations on all existing 64 double and 18 single storey units.

“This is a further example of our commitment to the Dubai air show and our determination to ensure that the Airport Expo Dubai retains its standing as a world-class site among the most user-friendly in the business,” said His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman, Department of Civil Aviation, Government of Dubai and Chairman of Emirates.

“We have given the go-ahead to these additional nine chalets and asked the organisers to report back on any future needs.”

F&E says for all the chalets to be reserved nine months ahead of the event is an unprecedented breakthrough for the Dubai air show.

“Demand for the chalets reflects that for space at the show itself, which is running at a record pace,” said Clive Richardson, Chief Executive, Aerospace Group, F&E. “With some nine months to go we already have exhibitors from 25 nations signed up and commitments for 13 national or industry pavilions, including, for the first time, Turkey.

“Over 80% of the floor space is committed and that includes the expanded allocation created by the new third hall – Central Hall – at Airport Expo Dubai, which gives us an additional 10,000 square metres gross.”

Sited beside the static aircraft display, Dubai air show chalets are on the flight line providing excellent views of the static park and daily flying displays.

Dubai 2005 will be held at Airport Expo Dubai from November 20-24. For the first time the show will feature an unmanned systems conference organised by the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International(AUVSI) and Flight International.

Dubai 2005 is organised by F&E in conjunction with the Department of Civil Aviation, Government of Dubai and in collaboration with the UAE Armed Forces.
