Miss Heritage World Organisation, accepted as new Affiliate Member of the UNWTO

Miss Heritage World Organisation, as an affiliate member of the UNWTO, will participate in electing the Management Board, the body that approves the organisation’s annual working plan.

The Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has accepted Miss Heritage World Organisation as an Affiliate Member of the entity during the 95th Session of the UNWTO Executive Council (Belgrade, Serbia), applications from 39 candidates were approved for joining the Organization’s Affiliate Members Programme. Membership of this international organism signifies a major recognition for the international task of implementation, commitment and development of sustainable, ethical and socially responsible tourism that Miss Heritage World Organisation carries out worldwide through the Miss Heritage World pageants.

The appointment will be ratified at the next General Assembly of the UNWTO, to be held next August at Victoria Falls, on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. This will make Miss Heritage World Organisation the first international beauty pageant organisers around the world to form part of the organisation.

With its entry into the UNWTO, Miss Heritage World Organisation will through its Miss Heritage World pageants reinforce its presence in the major international tourism forums. It will boost the promotion of tourism and intangible cultural heritage, as well as specific products that meet world tourism needs and contribute towards the economic growth and wellbeing of the societies in which it operates.

Miss Heritage World Organisation, as an affiliate member of the UNWTO, will participate in electing the Management Board, the body that approves the organisation’s annual working plan. It will also gain access to the global network of tourism organisations that belong to the UNWTO, thereby allowing it to share its experience, know how, innovations and good practice for the responsible and competitive development of the world tourism sector.

The UNWTO is the body that reports to the United Nations and is entrusted with encouraging responsible and sustainable tourism available to all. It is the main international institution in this sector and is currently made up of 156 member states and more than 400 private-sector affiliate members that collaborate in promoting policies and resources for developing tourism throughout the world.

Miss Heritage World Organisation was founded under the patronage of the Namibian First Lady, Madam Penehupifo Pohamba. With 50 National Directors from 50 countries around the world. The Miss Heritage World Organisation  will organise various cultural events, seminars, workshops and cultural heritage festivals that will bring together delegates from various  cultures, various religious and ethnic groups to come together and enjoy same aspirations in peace and oneness.

Through the Miss Heritage World Organisation events, nations come closer to expose their diversified tourist attractions and investments opportunities like the wildlife, cultural and historical heritage, geographical features and many others. Developed and highly industrialized nations and international companies have invested heavily in the Miss Heritage World events to market themselves as tourist destinations and new markets opportunities.

The main aim of Miss Heritage World Organisation is to promote tangible and intangible cultural heritage globally. To support and implement the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism.

Miss Heritage World will host the Miss Heritage World 2013 world final from 19-30 Augusts 2013 in Zimbabwe as a side event to celebrate the 20th UNWTO General Assembly in the form of international beauty pageantry. Contestants from Africa, America, Asia, Caribbean and the Middle East will participated.

Tourism Authorities/Boards or countries are hereby invited to nominate or select a contestant that will represents her country at the Miss Heritage World 2013 world final in Zimbabwe.
