Optosecurity wins world's first public tender for airport-wide centralized remote screening of cabin luggage

Brussels Airport was one of the very first airports to deploy eVelocity for remote screening of passenger cabin baggage.

QUEBEC CITY – Optosecurity, a world leader in Checkpoint Security productivity solutions, announced that Brussels Airport, a pioneer in remote screening, has chosen to deploy eVelocity for their new Connector central screening facility. The 25 lane facility will be the first in the world to provide central screening of cabin baggage for the entire airport.  Brussels Airport services more than 21 million passengers per year and this deployment signals a clear endorsement of the benefits of central screening and the operational efficiencies that eVelocity can provide.

“Brussels Airport’s new brand is ‘the Heart of Europe’ “, says Eric Bergeron, CEO of Optosecurity Inc. “We are very proud to provide it with the ‘brain power’ that will make the Connector’s centralized remote screening of cabin baggage a new benchmark for airports around the world in terms of efficiency, innovation and passenger facilitation.”

“Remote screening will bring more comfort and efficiency in the screening process to our passengers. This is at the core of our strategy. We’re particularly proud to be the first in the world to implement this in our new Connector building”, adds Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport.

Brussels Airport was one of the very first airports to deploy eVelocity for remote screening of passenger cabin baggage. Since that time, a number of leading airports in Europe have followed suit and embarked on trials of eVelocity.
