Passport renewal options continue to change due to Covid

Swift bringing back their expedited passport processing will help travelers looking to obtain their passport in time for their upcoming trip.

CHICAGO, IL – Swift Passport and Visa Services has resumed offering their expedited passport processing service. Passport processing has been backlogged since the beginning of the pandemic, which has led to major delays in passport processing times. Current standard passport processing can take up to 18 weeks, which can make it difficult for people to obtain a passport in time for their trip. Travelers should continue to expect significant delays when it comes to obtaining a passport when opting for standard processing time.

Swift bringing back their expedited passport processing will help travelers looking to obtain their passport in time for their upcoming trip. This is key considering that the US Passport Agency is experiencing significant passport processing delays due to a huge backlog of passports. The The travel.state.gov website states that current routine passport processing times can take up to 18 weeks, including up to 12 weeks for processing as well as 5-6 weeks for mailing. Opting to go with the expedited processing option through the US Passport Agency will take up to 12 weeks, including up to 6 weeks processing and 5-6 weeks for mailing.

If you’re looking to obtain a passport for an upcoming trip, Swift co-founder, Rob Lee, is confident that travelers who use Swift’s expedited passport processing service will receive their passport in time for departure day.

“Our team of travel experts will work with you throughout the entire passport process to ensure that you get your passport in time for your upcoming travels. We will closely monitor your passport from start to finish, and address any issues that may come up. We take pride in our work and will do everything we can to make sure that your passport is in your hands in time for your trip.”

When choosing to go with Swift’s expedited passport renewal service, you can expect to receive your passport within 7-10 business days. You should note that appointments are limited and will be taken on a first-come-first-served basis, so you’ll want to act fast. If you need your passport renewed but aren’t in a hurry, Swift’s 4-12 week renewal service is also available.

Lee also gave some insight into how Swift can assist with new, child, lost, or stolen passports right now.

“We are also able to assist with new, child, lost, or stolen passports right now with our new expedited service. If you’re looking to go on a trip in 2021, you’re going to want to apply for a passport as soon as possible so you don’t risk missing your trip altogether.”
