Peakwork presented an overview of the global sales opportunities in the leisure travel network based on their dynamic packaging and distribution connectivity technology, as well as an insight into blockchain technology and why blockchain is considered the most disruptive invention since the Internet itself.

DUSSELDORF – The Peakwork leisure travel network is continuing its double digit growth. This year, more than 300 senior travel industry managers, representing 161 companies from 24 countries (including US, UK, Russia, China, Japan, and Indonesia) met in Dusseldorf to connect in a beach club atmosphere and discuss the latest trends and innovations in the travel industry. Now in its fourth consecutive year, this annual conference welcomed more C-level delegates from tour operators, airlines, bedbanks, OTAs and metasearchers and is now established as a key networking event in the leisure travel business.

Peakwork presented an overview of the global sales opportunities in the leisure travel network based on their dynamic packaging and distribution connectivity technology, as well as an insight into blockchain technology and why blockchain is considered the most disruptive invention since the Internet itself.

Peakwork network partners also discussed current insights: Google presented its latest developments in the fields of assistance and customized content. Expedia Group presented the “Power of Data”, examining how smart insights can influence the way travel brands market the right messages to the right customer. Hotelbeds Group explained what the merger of Hotelbeds and other major hotel providers in Europe means for the industry. Czech Kiwi.com presented how to dramatically extend the inventory of dynamic packages by integrating virtually interlined flights. Lufthansa Group gave an overview of the changes in airline distribution and how NDC supports this. Even Facebook, Tripadvisor, and Trivago informed us about new opportunities to efficiently address potential customers with hotel, flight and package offers in their respective sales channels.

Peakwork also presented awards for outstanding projects based on Peakwork’s Player Hub Technology: German start-up WeekenGO was awarded with the Peakwork Innovation Award for the development of a travel metasearch app exclusively focused on weekend getaways that finds and combines the best flight and hotel offers within the next six months. The app is especially inspiring with its easy-to-use interface. First Mover Awards were presented to three tour operators who have launched their travel websites based on Peakwork technology in new markets: TUI Russia, Inna Tour Russia and Chinese Tour Operator Luckytrip launching in China.
