Pulkovo Airport increases passenger traffic by 12.3% for the first five months of 2019

Domestic traffic increased by 10.9% to 1,016,166 passengers compared to the same period of 2018. International traffic grew by 4.9% year-on-year and amounted to 692,086 passengers.

In January-May 2019, Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport welcomed 6,779,290 passengers, which is 12.3% more than in the same period of 2018.

The number of passengers on domestic flights grew by 14.2% to 4,417,759 passengers. International traffic increased by 9% and amounted to 2,361,531 passengers.

In January-May 2019, Pulkovo Airport handled 64,032 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 5.5% year-on-year.

In January-May 2019, Rossiya Airlines, Aeroflot, Pobeda, S7 Airlines, and Ural Airlines were the largest Russian carriers in terms of passenger numbers at Pulkovo. In total, they provided services to 4,237,055 passengers at St. Petersburg Airport or 63% of the total traffic for that period. Among foreign airlines, Lufthansa, Uzbekistan Airways, Belavia, Finnair, and airBaltic became the leaders at St. Petersburg Airport for the 5-month period of 2019. In total, they handled 499,530 passengers at Pulkovo or 7.4% of the airport traffic in January-May 2019.

In May 2019, Rossiya Airlines, S7 Airlines, Aeroflot, Pobeda, and Ural Airlines were the largest Russian carriers in terms of passenger numbers at Pulkovo. Among foreign airlines, the leaders were Lufthansa, Uzbekistan Airways, Belavia, Finnair, and airBaltic. In total, they handled 131,232 passengers at Pulkovo or 7.7% of the airport traffic for May 2019.

In May 2019, the route network of Pulkovo Airport expanded with three new destinations: Izmir (Turkey), Gelendzhik and Irkutsk (Russia).
