SECC completes its ticketing upgrade with the launch of ticketSOUP.com

SECxtra.com and SECCtickets.com have merged to create ticketSOUP.com, a brand new ticketing experience from the Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre (SECC). As the final phase in the SECC’s substantial investment to upgrade its ticketing product, ticketSOUP.com will continue to provide event promoters allocating tickets, the complete package for events held across the UK.

Moreover, by combining the SECC’s different ticketing operations, a wider selection of events will be available to the ticket buying public as a result of the more consolidated approach, which will only serve to generate increased exposure for the event promoters’ product.

SECC’s ticketing brand has already proved a phenomenal success, including high profile events such as the Country Living Christmas Fair held at the SECC, the Salon International, a 45,000 people consumer show at ExCeL London, and Country Living Show at Earls Court.

ticketSOUP.com will also be involved in more high profile events at the SECC, launching with the exclusive ticketing rights for the highly anticipated MOBO Awards 2009 in September this year.

Kanya King MBE, CEO and Founder of the MOBO Awards asserted her support for the SECC and ticketsoup.com initiative, commenting: "We are excited to be involved in the launch of the new website, ticketSOUP.com – MOBO has a history of being innovative and of finding new and creative ways to engage with our audience, something that is also clearly reflected within the ticketsoup.com ethos.

“We’re happy to have the MOBO Awards 2009 tickets exclusively on sale with ticketsoup.com to support this launch in Glasgow, a city with a very strong and vibrant music scene with over 125 live music acts performing city-wide every week!”

Alan Hood, Head of Contact Centre at the SECC added: “ticketSOUP.com is an exciting new development for us, it means we can offer more value to our clients holding events both at the SECC and at other venues within the UK. The new branding will give us an identity separate to the SECC and target the ticket buying public directly with its new contemporary identity.”
