Flanked by business and tourism leaders, Jerry Sanders – former San Diego Mayor and current President of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce – led a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the globally recognized company’s expansion to another key U.S. location, further bolstering tourism in San Diego.
SAN DIEGO – Sixt Rent-a-Car is renowned around the world for its one-of-a-kind "Signature Sixt Experience," meeting the unique needs of each customer with world-class service. In the United States, Sixt is focused on upgrading and improving existing locations and expanding to new markets as rapidly as possible. Last month, the company unveiled a newly-expanded space that will enable it to keep up with surging demand at the Miami International Airport.
Beginning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Jerry Sanders, former San Diego Mayor and current President of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, Sixt announced that it's officially open for business at the San Diego International Airport.

Sixt entered the U.S. market in 2011. Beginning with its first location at Miami International Airport, Sixt started with a local fleet of nearly 500 vehicles. The company has grown its business to a fleet of more than 2,500 vehicles in the Miami market, and just opened a newly-renovated location at MIA to keep pace with demand. Sixt company plans to take the same approach in San Diego, working diligently to grow its business through customer loyalty, and is also expanding into other U.S. cities as rapidly as possible.
Sixt is now the 5th largest car rental company in the U.S. The company has grown to over 750 employees, and serves more than 50 rental locations located in California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Washington, Texas, Connecticut, New Jersey, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Arizona, and Massachusetts.
