Tickengo becomes Wingz and launches in L.A.

The growing community airport service rebrands itself with a new name & expands service to L.A.

SAN FRANCISCO – Following five successful months focusing on facilitating airport rides in the Bay Area, Tickengo has changed its name to Wingz. With a new name and strong growth in its first target area, the ridesharing startup is also announcing its decision to expand its service to Los Angeles.

“We are extremely excited about the new name as we believe that it better reflects our current focus. We have developed a service and technology specifically designed for getting to and from the airport without hassle,” said CEO and Co-Founder, Geoff Mathieux. “Our decision to focus on airport rides months ago is paying off. We’ve had tremendous growth with thousands of rides given in the Bay Area. This success spurred our decision to expand to L.A. There we plan to provide people heading to and from LAX with the same high quality of service that we already provide in the Bay Area.”

Wingz enables travelers to schedule a private door-to-door airport ride in advance. Flexibility and customization are an essential part of the service. If a passenger needs an early morning ride that requires a large car for luggage, a baby seat, or an extra stop to pick up a colleague while en route, Wingz makes the trip possible, convenient and hassle-free.

Rides are provided by Wingz’ local drivers using their own cars. As local residents, these drivers have a vast knowledge of their cities. All drivers are hand-picked and trained, with their background and DMV records checked. In addition, Wingz inspects all vehicles and provides drivers with a $1M per incident liability insurance policy.

Wingz’ pricing is straightforward as customers are quoted the price of their ride at the time of their booking. There are no hidden costs, no tips, and no surge pricing. The customer’s credit card is billed only after the ride has been completed.
