TUI Travel begins international roll out of the 'TUI Digital Assistant'

The first incarnation of the TDA launched in the UK as the MyThomson mobile app in July 2013 and has since had over 180,000 downloads.

LONDON  – TUI Travel PLC is pleased to announce the international roll out of its ‘TUI Digital Assistant’ (TDA), the coveted mobile app which puts holiday planning in the palms of its holiday makers worldwide. The ‘Meine TUI’ app is now available in the German source market under the TUI tour operating brand.

The first incarnation of the TDA launched in the UK as the MyThomson mobile app in July 2013 and has since had over 180,000 downloads.

Mittu Sridhara, Chief Information Officer of TUI Travel PLC, said: “Our strategy is to develop our digital capabilities that enhance the customer experience once and then roll those products out to all our source markets. The TDA was very well received by customers in the UK and it is now being developed for all our source markets. Yesterday marked the first step in this roll out with the TDA product now available in the iTunes and Android app stores in Germany.”

“Across the Group, millions of customers book online, but the beauty of the digital assistant is that those who have booked in store will now also be able to dream about their holiday through the app – it’s a fantastic tool which links our points of contact. The Digital Assistant has been a resounding success in the UK and its clear there is a real demand for the app from our customers.”

The TDA is a ‘one stop shop’ for everything customers need once they have booked their holiday. Available for Android phones and iPhones, it includes everything from flight information and luggage allowance details, to maps to help customers plan the best route to the airports. The personalised holiday countdown can also be shared via social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
