PhoCusWright is expanding its travel conference to four days with the addition of Search Marketing Expo-SMX Travel. SMX [email protected] will be presented as a stand-alone event within The PhoCusWright Conference.



According to the organizers, it will be the opportunity for attendees to also choose to attend SMX [email protected] as part of the Full Conference Experience ticket which also includes PhoCusWright`s well-known Center Stage program.



SMX [email protected] is a new event focusing on search marketing for the travel and hospitality industries. It will be directed by search marketing authority Chris Sherman of SearchEngineLand.com, which is published by Third Door Media, in conjunction with PhoCusWright`s travel industry experts.



Now in its 14th year, The PhoCusWright Conference will be held November 12-15, 2007 in Orlando, Florida USA and will bring together a forward thinking group of travel industry executives.



The entire PhoCusWright Conference agenda is packed with sessions aimed at the experienced search marketer, said Sherman. There are plenty of tips and tactical advice on tap for them. And with the addition of SMX [email protected], marketers will dive further into how to become leaders through discussions of key industry issues that are shaping change.



Search is redefining the travel industry landscape and leveling the playing field for all travel sellers, according to PhoCusWright president and CEO Philip C. Wolf. Almost two thirds of online travelers report that general search engines, like Google and Yahoo!, influence their travel purchase because of the vast number of travel-related Web sites across the Internet. Search marketing in its broadest sense has supported channel shift between suppliers and intermediaries, empowered the Long Tail, and is forcing some of the largest travel retailers in the world to rethink their business models.
