In anticipation of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP<.>) extraordinary 50th anniversary celebration, registration for the HFTP 2002 Annual Convention & Tradeshow in August was 20 percent higher than what it was at that time last year. The event, October 23-26 at the Renaissance Austin Hotel in Austin, Texas, will be the culmination of HFTP`s yearlong 50th anniversary celebration. Attendees will have the opportunity to sit in on sessions led by popular, world-renowned speakers, go to extra-special social events and visit an exhibit displaying memorabilia from HFTP`s 50 years in existence. Those who are planning to attend view this event as an opportunity to come together with their colleagues to honor the association that has played a major role in their career development.

As a past international president, I am anticipating that our 50th anniversary annual convention will be an emotional reunion for all the past presidents and board members, an opportunity to visit with old friends from past conventions and a chance to welcome all the first time attendees into the HFTP family, said Virginia Clarizia, the 1999-2000 HFTP International President and administration manager at the Tedesco Country Club in Marblehead, Mass. HFTP has been a great friend, a wonderful resource, a supplier of marvelous education, networking and industry contacts. I am looking forward to adding my `cheers` to its celebration of 50 years and wishing HFTP the greatest success in the next 50.
