Scenic launches 2024 European River Cruise Brochure

Leading the way are two new itineraries – a 10-day Danube in Depth that digs deep into the cultures, history and local flavors of the historic cities and towns on the Budapest to Nuremburg (and reverse) route.

HOLLYWOOD, FL. – Scenic has unveiled its full 2024 Europe River Cruising brochure featuring new river cruise collections, Danube sailings, two unforgettable Scenic Enrich experiences, and over 50 new Scenic Freechoice excursions, giving guests an even deeper cultural immersion along Europe’s historic waterways.

The recently launched 2024 brochure release introduces Scenic’s new River Cruise Collections, making it even easier for guests to select their perfect Europe River Cruise, based on their personal preferences. These new collections include:

  • Epicurean Delights: guests are immersed in local cuisine with cooking classes, meeting local farmers and tasting their produce, and sampling wine from award-winning vineyards.
  • Nature’s Wonders: itineraries that take in the most impressive European gardens, sweeping valleys and gorges, and mysterious castle surroundings.
  • Seasonal Delights: once-in-a-lifetime moments at unique seasonal events, from the magical Christmas markets to the stunning tulips that take over the Netherlands in spring, guests on a seasonal Scenic River cruise absorb Europe’s most-loved traditions and culture.

“As travel continues to grow again, our guests are requesting longer cruises itineraries and deeper cultural experiences, to truly create unforgettable stories for life,” offered Ken Muskat, Managing Director, Scenic Group USA. “With more than 56 new Scenic Enrich and Freechoice experiences, new Danube itineraries and a new way to choose the perfect European cruises, 2024 promises to be focused on tailoring our ultra-luxury river cruises uniquely to our guests.”

Leading the way are two new itineraries – a 10-day Danube in Depth that digs deep into the cultures, history and local flavors of the historic cities and towns on the Budapest to Nuremburg (and reverse) route including cooking classes in Bratislava, active hikes, and plenty of time for independent exploration while making use of Scenic’s exclusive Tailormade River Guide app. The eight-day Iconic Danube (also available with a three-night Prague extension), is perfect for those who wish to explore the highlights of four countries during the European spring with four exclusive departures in April 2024.

Two new Scenic Enrich experiences, designed to offer a truly immersive and exclusive experience inaccessible to ordinary travelers, have also been added to the 2024 lineup. An exclusive Gala Evening at La Redoute, allows guests to step into total opulence and luxury at La Redoute on Scenic’s Jewels of Europe River cruise. Built in the late 1700’s by the last Elector of Cologne, it’s played host to numerous dignitaries and has been called the Beethoven Hall in honor of Beethoven playing several times a week in its large recital hall steeped in rich history. Scenic guests will attend a lavish dinner and classical concert where live music from Beethoven and Mozart will echo through the walls of the spectacular recital hall.

Scenic guests on the Windmills, Tulips & Belgian Delights itinerary will take in a private afterhours show at the Fabrique de Lumieres in Amsterdam, a former coal fired gasworks that has been transformed into a spectacular digital art installation. Digital installations come alive twisting, turning and morphing into something new and beautiful. This immersive art center will display an exclusive showcase for guests.

More than 50 new Freechoice experiences are now available with Scenic’s 2024 river cruises program, where guests can choose destinations and activities that perfectly suit their interests. Examples include a guided and interactive tour following in the footsteps of famed and fierce Viking, Rollo, who became the first ruler of Normandy, on the eight-day Highlights of Normandy & the Seine. Guests learn the history direct from ‘Rollo himself’ and chart the routes of the Vikings that shaped Normandy on this fascinating excursion. Exclusive to the 16-day Danube Delta Discovery itinerary, guests can visit the Sisi Museum in Vienna. One of Vienna’s most popular experiences, the Sisi museum collection features over 300 artefacts that present a fascinating picture of the beloved but misunderstood Austrian Empress Elizabeth, a unique figure in Austrian history. Guests can now enjoy a round of golf at some of Porto’s best golf courses, known the world over for their iconic settings, on the 11-day Unforgettable Douro sailing.

For guests looking to go to France in 2024, it is even more important to book early as it promises to be a busy year – the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Highlights of Normandy & the Seine is the perfect itinerary for learning the history and importance of the D-Day landings in Normandy – and enjoying the beauty of the countryside along the Seine River. And Scenic offers two-and three-night Paris extensions to allow for more time in the City of Light.

Scenic offers 10 different city stays and extensions, available to augment nearly every itinerary. The five-day Ljubljana & Zagreb extends several itineraries including the 14-day Jewels of Europe and takes in the natural beauty of Slovenia and Croatia combined with history, cobblestone streets and glacial lakes. Three nights in either Lisbon or Madrid allow for exploration of the culture and styles of two capital cities before or after sailing on the Douro. And extending an 11-day Black Sea Explorer cruise adds six days in Transylvania and a visit the former summer residence of the Romanian family Bran Castle, home of the legend Count Dracula.

For travelers looking to spend even more time exploring Europe, Scenic has Ultimate River Cruise Combinations, combining some of their most popular itineraries to create the ultimate vacation experience. The 23-day North Sea to Black Sea is a full sweep of European history, taking in the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers as they wind through eight countries. Or mix it up a bit with the 21-day Gems of the Seine & Unforgettable Douro, sailing two incredible rivers with very different sceneries – the cathedrals, architectural wonders and the history or the D-Day landings in Normandy as compared to the vibrant city of Portugal’s Porto and the serenity of a land that time seems to have forgotten – while both sharing a love of great foods and wines. A total of six offerings run from 21 to 23 days.

The 5-star Scenic Space-Ships offer all-inclusive luxury experiences – from private butler service and unlimited complimentary beverages and spirits including mini-bar re-stocked daily, to up to six on-board dining options and a wellness area and fitness center. And guests will never have to reach for the wallet or purse as everything (except a haircut or massage) is included: tips and gratuities, airport transfers, expert local guides, all Scenic Freechoice activities, and Scenic Enrich events which are exclusive to Scenic guests.

Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours has grown over its 37-year history to include award-winning river and ocean cruises and handcrafted land journeys that take guests to many of the world’s most fascinating destinations. Since 2008, Scenic has set the benchmark for truly all-inclusive, luxury five-star river cruises in Europe and Southeast Asia. In 2019, Scenic introduced Scenic Eclipse, The World’s First Discovery Yacht, a 228-guest ultra-luxury ship, and delivered a second yacht, Scenic Eclipse II, in April 2023. Scenic is part of Scenic Group, which includes Emerald Cruises, Mayflower Cruises & Tours and Evergreen Tours.
