Duty Free Americas, leading duty free retailer in the Western Hemisphere, has opened three new specialty retail stores at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), including the first ever travel retail store for Toys“R”Us. The retailer has also opened its first sunglasses store in the USA, SHADE, as well as the inaugural LEGO store at DFW Airport. With the openings, Duty Free Americas is now operating 7 stores bringing a bold new perspective to the retail offering at DFW Airport, which handles around 73 million passengers each year.

Denise Erickson, Vice President, Airport Division at Duty Free Americas, alongside Ken Buchanan, Executive Vice President Customer Experience and Revenue Management, Zenola Campbell, Vice President Concessions and Pamela Housley, Concessions Manager from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, cut the ribbon for all three stores on 17th January 2024. They were joined by Iremis Lorenzo, Associate Key Account Manager, LEGO AMS Travel Retail, and Mary Cacciacarne, Head of Global Merchandising of Toys”R”Us/Babies”R”Us at WHP Global to celebrate the inauguration of their respective brand stores. In addition to Ronnie Harris, CEO & President RS Harris LLC.

Toys“R”Us and The LEGO Group bring joy to kids of all ages, while SHADE offers an unparalleled array of lifestyle and luxury sunglasses. The trio of openings coincide with DFW Airport’s 50th anniversary this month. “We are thrilled to officially open the doors to these three new specialty stores, each offering their own distinct shopping experiences at DFW Airport,” said Joseph Falic, Duty Free Americas Vice President.

“These launches are especially exciting as they come as our friends at DFW Airport celebrate 50 years of excellence in American aviation – a landmark moment in the airport’s history. I would like to congratulate the team on a half-century of distinction.

“We are delighted to be a long-term partner of the airport, and we share a commitment to delivering the best possible experience to our travelling customers. I would also like to thank our partners at Toys“R”Us, SHADE and The LEGO Group for their partnership, which allows Duty Free Americas to play a central role in their growth strategy across the region.”

“Toys “R” Us is a storied brand and DFW Airport is excited to be the first airport with the company’s reimagined store,” said Ken Buchanan, DFW’s Executive Vice President for Revenue Management and Customer Experience. “One of our key focuses is to ensure our customers can enjoy their time while at DFW Airport, and the addition of Toys “R” Us, LEGO and SHADE will add to our growing portfolio of exceptional experiences.”
