Riga Airport opened yesterday its reconstructed VIP Centre. The reconstruction will help bring VIP services in line with the European VIP service standards. The newly built annexe is connected with the existing building forming a single complex with a lobby and administrative centre, expanding the total area to 2060 m2. In the new facility passengers will be able to carry out all the necessary formalities before and after their flight. In the enlarged VIP Centre the services will be also provided to non-Schengen passengers in transit.

Andis Damlics, member of the Board of Riga International Airport, said: “By accomplishing the VIP Centre reconstruction project the airport has improved its position in the private aviation transport market. Moreover, we are prepared for the year 2014 when Riga will be the European Capital of Culture and for 2015 – the year of Latvia’s EU presidency – when we will be able to welcome numerous official delegations on the premises with high service standards.”

In total, from Riga Airport in the winter season 70 direct destinations are operated by the following airlines: airBaltic, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Aeroflot, Lufthansa, Norwegian, Finnair, Uzbekistan Airways, LOT, UTair, Transaero, Belavia, Turkish Airlines, Austrian Airlines Group, Turkmenistan Airlines, Polet Airlines, Corendon, SmartLynx, AMC.
