GBTA Foundation announces partnership with WINiT–WomenInTravel

Partnership to cocus on collaboration around education, research.

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The GBTA Foundation – the education and research arm of the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) – announced a partnership with WINiT–WomenInTravel. WINiT, a non-profit organization founded by Michelle “Mick” Lee, is a network of women and men who have come together to support the career development, promotion and visibility of women in the travel industry.

“We are pleased to announce our partnership with WINiT as the GBTA Foundation continues to serve a critically important role in providing timely research and educational opportunities that help travel professionals thrive,” said Daphne Bryant, Executive Director for the GBTA Foundation. “The WINiT Launch Event planned as part of our Convention Kick-Start programming will be a great way to kick-off our partnership and begin exploring ways our organizations will collaborate around education and research.”

“WINiT was formed in January of 2014 with five key differentiators that existing programs in the travel industry did not provide,” said Mick Lee, Founder and CEO. “We are business focused, we are not geographically limited, we bring men into the conversation, our members are women and men of all levels and our programming was created in a manner to ensure that we complement what already exists with industry associations. Leveraging the GBTA network and working with them on their curriculum was a great opportunity for our launch to the industry, specifically the WINiT 2014 Pilot Mentor program for women and men, which we are launching in the fall.”

The WINiT-WomenInTravel Launch Event will take place on Saturday, July 26 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles as part of the GBTA Convention 2014 Kick-Start programming. The event will feature an overview of WINiT’s mission and education sessions delivered by industry leaders, and will also be an incredible networking opportunity with access to senior leaders in a uniquely intimate setting. There is still time to register for this complimentary event.
