Egencia presents its integrated technology and services vision at GBTA

The travel management company provides unique insights at the world's largest business travel show in Los Angeles.

BELLEVUE, WASH. – Egencia, the business travel company of Expedia, Inc., plans to unveil new perspectives on future travelers, and the travel management programs that support them, during three sessions at the GBTA Convention on July 28th.

“At Egencia we have always believed that the future of business travel meant providing companies and travelers with responsive technology tightly connected to the very best in off-line service,” says Mark Hollyhead, senior vice president for Egencia, the Americas. “For over 10 years we’ve been committed to this goal and have continued our investment in global, modern, consumer-inspired solutions for companies of all sizes. We’re excited to be showcasing our very latest product and service innovations at this year’s GBTA convention, including a first look at our latest mobile developments.”

Egencia’s GBTA sessions will focus on fundamental evolutions within the business travel industry, and how they can create opportunities for both travelers and their companies.

Relevant Solutions for Digitally-connected Travelers
Mark Hollyhead will moderate the session, “Rise of the Silent Traveler” which explores how independent, digital travelers have changed the way they expect to interact with travel consultants. The panel is an extension of the recent Skift analysis on how travel companies are responding to this trend. In the analysis, Egencia research demonstrates that over 76% of travelers agree or strongly agree that interacting in person is important during hotel check-in. In an apparent contradiction, 59% would choose the self-service check-in option to save time. This shows how contextually designed digital travel services can attract travelers while providing cost-savings for companies.

Corporate Savings Through Savvy Travel Management
Chris Vukelich, Egencia vice-president, supplier relations for the Americas will participate in a debate on “New Opportunities for Savings – Where’s a Mature Travel Management Program to Go?” He will explore how companies can use data and mobile booking tools to optimize travel policies according to their very specific definition of value. He will use examples of how Egencia designs tools that travel managers can use to maximize savings.

Full-service Partnerships with Technology Integrated into Service
To present the Egencia view on “The Role of TMCs in the Evolution of Travel Management,” Kjarsten Philipsen, senior director, sales and account management for Egencia North America, will show how proactive TMCs can become true extensions of a company’s travel management program and lead it to smarter savings and more productive travel.
