"Play and Ski" with new Alaska Airlines service between Las Vegas and Mammoth Lakes

Alaska Airlines also provides year-round flights to Mammoth Lakes from Los Angeles and winter seasonal flights from San Diego.

MAMMOTH LAKES, CALIF. – Test your luck at the slots and then head to the slopes with new seasonal service operated by Alaska Airlines between Las Vegas and Mammoth Lakes, California.

Alaska’s nonstop flight from Las Vegas to Mammoth Lakes will operate on Mondays and Thursdays between Jan. 15 and April 6, 2015, giving locals and visitors alike plenty of opportunities to experience “Sin City” and ski fresh powder at Mammoth Mountain throughout the winter season.

“The Vegas flight is a great arrow in our quiver for international markets,” said Michael Vanderhurst, director of sales and international marketing for Mammoth Lakes Tourism. “These visitors often come to the U.S. for two to three weeks at a time. Latin America, the UK and Australia are three markets that will jump at the opportunity to experience a ski holiday at the legendary Mammoth Mountain, with the added bonus of being able to experience Vegas during their vacation as well.”

“We’re thrilled to offer our customers convenient, nonstop service from Las Vegas to Mammoth Yosemite Airport,” said Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines’ senior vice president of communications and external relations. “Located just 15 minutes from Mammoth Yosemite Airport, Mammoth Mountain Resort is one of California’s most-beloved ski destinations, boasting more than 3,500 acres of skiable terrain.”

Alaska Airlines also provides year-round flights to Mammoth Lakes from Los Angeles and winter seasonal flights from San Diego.

Alaska Airlines’ sister carrier, Horizon Air, will operate the flights with the Bombardier Q400, a high-speed, twin-engine turboprop. Travelers will enjoy complimentary soft drinks, Starbucks coffee, Northwest wines and microbrews (for passengers 21 years and older), and A la Cart planeside baggage service.
