Estonian Air passenger numbers grew 13.8% in June

In the first six months Estonian Air carried altogether 275 948 passengers, out of which 268 919 on regular flights. The total number of passengers on regular flights increased 7.3% compared to the same period last year.

In June 2105, Estonian Air carried 62 550 passengers, out of which 60 160 on regular flights. The number of passengers on regular flights increased by 13.8% compared to the same period last year.

In the first six months Estonian Air carried altogether 275 948 passengers, out of which 268 919 on regular flights. The total number of passengers on regular flights increased 7.3% compared to the same period last year.

“In spite of strongly increased competition in aviation market, in June the number of passengers of Estonian Air was over sixty two and a half thousand, which is an increase of 14% compared to the last year. The last time Estonian Air carried more than 60 thousand passengers was in November 2012,” said Indrek Randveer, CCO of Estonian Air.

We note with satisfaction that the share of sales of Estonian Air has increased by 4% within the first six months and in June by 14% while the total sales on Estonian market decreased by 3% in the first six months. The most requested destinations in June were Nice, Berlin, Milan, Split, Vilnius, Trondheim and Oslo. We have noticed an increase in interest to travel to Estonia thanks to being more active on our destination markets.”

“June has been successful also in terms of providing capacity to other airlines (Austrian Airlines) and operating charter flights which has helped us to better utilise surplus aircraft and to reach monthly profit in June,” added Randveer.

In the first six months Estonian Air operated 5966 flights, which is 13.4% more than during the same period last year. In June the airline operated 1140 flights, which is 20% more than during the same period last year.

In the first six months the regularity of Estonian Air flights was 98.8% and the 15-minute punctuality was 91.0%. In June the regularity and punctuality were 99.4% and 91.6% respectively.

Estonian Air is aiming to provide Estonia with reliable and regular double daily connections to destinations of strategic importance and of substantial demand. Being a small country on the periphery of Europe, Estonia depends on such connections, and Estonian Air is committed to provide these services.

The airline flies regular routes to Stockholm (Arlanda and Bromma), Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Brussels, Oslo, Moscow, St Petersburg, Kiev, Vilnius and Trondheim. Until October 2015, Estonian Air also operates seasonal flights to Munich, Paris, Berlin, Nice, Vienna, Split and Milan.

In addition to direct flights, Estonian Air is providing more than 280 destinations around the world together with partner airlines. For instance, Stockholm Arlanda, Copenhagen and Amsterdam airports act as important hubs for connecting flights.
