Event Connections develops unique smartphone check-in as part of new suite of registration tools

The FluidFlow Suite has been developed in addition to Event Connections’ highly regarded hotel reception-style check-in service.

Delegate management and registration specialist Event Connections announces the launch of a new suite of registration tools including ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) check-in, a feature unique to Event Connections.

The ‘FluidFlow’ suite is comprised of four tools designed to keep delegates flowing through the registration process, eliminating queues and minimising bottlenecks. The ‘FluidFlow Here!’ tool enables delegates to click an ‘I’m here’ link on their device, via their registration emails, meaning there is no need to interact with on-site scanners. Attendees will verify their presence at the event by entering a short code that will be displayed at the venue’s entrance and badges can be collected from the area shown on their smartphone, having been automatically printed.

The FluidFlow Suite has been developed in addition to Event Connections’ highly regarded hotel reception-style check-in service. Andy Barr, Director at Event Connections, comments: “Some of the most frequent requests we receive from clients involve keeping the registration process flowing and minimising queues. We strive to keep innovating and I am delighted to be able to offer a range of solutions that suit every type of organiser and event.

“’FluidFlow Here!’ will mean delegates have no need to interact with on-site technology – they can do everything from their own device. People can simply keep moving through registration meaning less equipment and fewer staff are required, reducing costs for organisers.”

The other tools include ‘FluidFlow Kiosk’, providing self-service registration stations, ‘FluidFlow Mobile’, designed to allow staff to scan digital and paper invitations with a discrete hand-held scanner as delegates move through the area and ‘FluidFlow Help’, providing manned help desks to handle new registrations, amendments and substitutions.
