MIA lands first Air Margaritaville in the U.S.

Inspired by Jimmy Buffett’s famous song and the laid-back lifestyle it represents, Air Margaritaville features traditional breakfast items, coastal-themed seafood, salads and sandwiches, a diverse menu of tropical drinks and beers, and of course, Cheeseburgers in Paradise.

MIAMI – The first Air Margaritaville at a U.S. airport hosted its grand opening celebration on September 25 at Miami International Airport with a ribbon-cutting and ceremonial margarita toast by airport and restaurant executives, followed by a VIP happy hour.

“Air Margaritaville now provides an iconic South Florida restaurant brand directly in the center of MIA – and adjacent to our MIA Hotel lobby – that passengers from throughout the airport can enjoy,” said Miami-Dade Aviation Director Emilio T. Gonzalez. “Congratulations to IMCMV on a successful grand opening, and we look forward to also welcoming their Brazilian buffet-style restaurant Viena – another first in the U.S. – to MIA later this year.”

Air Margaritaville’s 4,000-square-foot location in MIA’s Central Terminal offers one of the largest full-service bars pre-security at the airport, approximately 120 seats for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week, 13 TVs within the restaurant, Jimmy Buffett style music playing throughout the venue, and surfboard tables and cargo boxes throughout the restaurant that add to the themed decor. The menu features house-made margaritas, frozen boat drinks and cold LandShark Lager, along with signature food items like the Cheeseburger in Paradise and Volcano Nachos.

Air Margaritaville is operated by IMCMV MIA Airport, LLC, a U.S. subsidiary of Brazilian-listed company International Meal Company Alimentacao S.A. (MEAL3 BZ) “IMC” who own and operate Margaritaville and Land Shark Bar & Grill destination restaurants throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and Panama. International Meal Company also owns over 400 casual and quick-service restaurants in Brazil, the Caribbean and Mexico, emphasizing units in airports, shopping malls and along major highways.
