The Hotel Network and American Express forge partnership

Accommodation broker, The Hotel Network (THN), has signed a new partnership with American Express, giving THN corporate and government clients access to the popular American Express Business Travel Account (BTA) which streamlines the administration and reconciliation of business travel expenses while providing centralised control of costs.

The BTA and American Express’ online reconciliation tool, BTAConnect, offer clients a streamlined billing and payment process which can allow for charges to be itemised by preference to assist with reconciliation and improving productivity.

Central control means that instead of employees, contractors and consultants using credit cards – often their own – or cash for accommodation costs, they can now book any one of THN’s 6000 properties around Australia, with all charges billed to the BTA. The BTA also offers convenient, monthly billing, comprehensive travel data and improved expense visibility with a single account number.

Managing Director of The Hotel Network, Nick Brooke, said: “THN’s partnership with American Express will afford businesses and government agencies the convenience of using the American Express BTA for staff travel expenditures at all hotels across Australia.

“The Hotel Network offers an accommodation booking, management and reporting service at more than 6000 properties across Australia, enabling travel agents, companies and government departments the ability to book their individual negotiated rates at their own choice of hotels,” Mr Brooke said. “What the BTA offers our clients is the ability for all staff – permanent or temporary – to bill all their accommodation costs booked via THN’s service to one central account, which eliminates the need for multiple credit cards, employee reimbursements and cash advances for travel.

“The BTA will also allow our customers to pay just one bill per month. In addition, the BTA is compliant with the Australian Taxation Office so it’s an ideal way for companies and government departments to consolidate and control their travel expenditures, especially with the pressure in the current economic climate to reduce travel budgets.”
