The 2002 Directory lists hotel and management companies’ contact information including the headquarters’ address, phone and fax numbers, Web site and e-mail addresses, and the names of senior executives. The book also specifies the locations of properties, indicating whether the companies are local, regional, national, or international in their operations; what types of brands they retain; total number of properties and rooms; and annual gross sales.
In addition, it features a Company Rankings section, which lists hotel corporations by their total number of rooms; a Vendors section, which includes 18 companies offering products and services to the lodging industry; a Hotel Brokers section, which lists more than 100 lodging brokerage companies; and a Hotel Consultants section, which lists more than 150 lodging consulting companies.
This year’s version is a commemorative edition that is dedicated to lodging industry personnel who lost their lives on Sept. 11 and to the publication’s former publisher, Richard Turner, who passed away unexpectedly in February. Proceeds will be donated to the Marriott Associate Assistance Fund and the Hilton Assistance Fund to aid the families who were affected by the terrorist attacks.
The directory is produced by the American Hotel Association Directory Corporation, an AH&LA subsidiary that has been in the publishing business for 115 years. It is the most comprehensive listing of lodging companies worldwide and is available in a printed copy and on CD-ROM.
