Business Travel industry ‘thought leaders’ to engage at Accra Travel Forum

The upcoming Forum at Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra will see delegates engaging with industry thought leaders during round table discussions in order to investigate improved efficiencies across the business travel value chain.

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA – The African Business Travel Association announced the format for its upcoming Business Travel Industry Forum being hosted in Accra on 25 February 2014.

“We are delighted at the fantastic number of delegates that will be attending this all important Business Travel Industry forum,” says Monique Swart, ABTA Founder.

She goes on to say that the event, which is being run by invitation only, will be attended by the ‘whose who’ of the business travel industry including senior management from the region’s leading local and global travel agencies, TMC’s, Hotel chains and Airlines, as well as Travel Co-ordinators and Managers from Corporate companies with a mid to high annual business travel spend.

“For the first time this year, industry thought leaders who drive and guide the industry will be getting together in one place to discuss best practice to help elevate our travel industry – and I am so excited to be part of this group” says Anita Baptist who is a member of the local ABTA Ghana Steering Committee and staunch advocate for improvement in the local business travel industry.

Says Swart: “Business Travel is not a new thing!  For years, companies have been sending their staff around the globe.  However, the costs related to business travel have never been higher, and the intricacies involved as far as classes of travel, health and safety, required documentation, supplier options, service levels (…and so on!) have never been greater!  And thus the need for industry players to ensure that they are on track and on the same page and for travel professionals to have access to best practice within the travel environment is exceptionally important and one of the key offerings of these ABTA Industry Events.”

The upcoming Forum at Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra will see delegates engaging with industry thought leaders during round table discussions in order to investigate improved efficiencies across the business travel value chain.

ABTA has been hosting industry forums in Ghana for over two years now and the Association’s Founder says that there has been exceptional membership growth: “It is really great to see that more companies are starting to understand the value of ABTA Membership and the access that it gives them to information and best practice. We have new members signing up from Ghana daily and look forward to meeting many of these at the Accra forum next week” says Swart.
