GBTA Europe creates new French network

One year since its launch and GBTA Europe has announced the creation of a new network in France, specifically designed for travel managers with international responsibility.

Le Groupe Francais des Acheteurs Voyages Internationaux is being created for French-speaking travel managers who qualify through the GBTA CTE training course, held four times a year in France. Individuals will receive membership of the group and automatic complimentary access to GBTA Europe membership for 1 year. The group will launch with an initial membership of 41 French travel managers with over 80 CTE qualified members planned by the end of the year.

Members of the group will benefit from round-table events to share best practice, three telepresence forums per annum with other GBTA regions and access to other GBTA Europe member benefits including the annual European conference planning in Amsterdam on 19th September, access to a global collaboration platform being launched mid-year, benchmark tools and hundreds of resources, research and templates.

Talking about the establishment of the group, which will also accept French-speaking Belgian and Swiss members who are CTE qualified, Paul Tilstone, Managing Director of GBTA Europe said, “After announcing our partner in Germany towards the end of 2010, we said we had more announcements in the New Year. France is an important region for us and it is important to get our operation right in that region.”
