Green Key Global partners with Colorado Hotel & Lodging Association

As CHLA’s preferred partner for certifying sustainable lodging operations within the state, Green Key Global will work with the association to educate and certify their members on the many benefits that can be obtained through Green Key Certification.

OTTAWA, ON. – Green Key Global and the Colorado Hotel & Lodging Association (CHLA) have partnered to promote the Green Key Eco-Rating Program to Colorado’s lodging industry. The selection of Green Key Global as its certification partner compliments a drive by the association to promote a culture of sustainability amongst its members.

As CHLA’s preferred partner for certifying sustainable lodging operations within the state, Green Key Global will work with the association to educate and certify their members on the many benefits that can be obtained through Green Key Certification. Green Key certification provides a number of valuable resources and marketing benefits to members, including: property-specific Performance Reports; Toolkits and Templates; Member Case Studies; Marketing Collateral (including logos); a Carbon Calculator for tracking Greenhouse Gas emissions; and recognition via our Listing Affiliate network (AAA, Travelocity, Expedia and more).

The Green Key Eco-Rating Program focuses on the main operational areas within a facility including an emphasis on policies, procedures and training. Within those operational categories attention is placed on a number of key areas related to sustainability including energy, waste and water management, community involvement, land use, indoor air quality and more. There are currently 18 Colorado lodging facilities certified through the Green Key Eco-Rating Program.

“This exciting partnership with the Colorado Hotel & Lodging Association demonstrates the lodging industry’s growing commitment to improved and transparent sustainable initiatives,” stated Tony Pollard, Managing Director for Green Key Global. “We are proud to have been selected by CHLA to help further this movement amongst their membership.”

“Colorado was an adopter of sustainability programs because it fit so well with our brand, made good business sense and helped to protect our amazing state. As the professional trade association for Colorado’s lodging industry we are thrilled to join forces with such a robust initiative like Green Key Global to assist our large and small member properties integrate greening program that will truly help their bottom lines and overall guest satisfaction,” says Christine O’Donnell, president of CHLA.
