The original Alliance Agreement for the development, marketing, endorsement, and promotion of the IATA Travel and Tourism Training products entered into between IATA and UFTAA on May 2011 has been extended up to the end of current year.

With over 200 million people working in the Travel & Tourism industry the IATA-

The training programme, which has a global recognition of over a quarter of a million of students across the globe, is a joint programme supplied by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) together with the United Federation of Travel Agents’ Association (UFTAA). The Training Programme is suitable not only for those who want to start a career as Travel Professionals but also to anyone working in the industry who wants to advance and upgrade his/her proficiency.

The IATA-UFTAA Career Path Programme offers a number of levels and caters for the beginner with a specialized ‘Foundation’ course proceeding to “Consultant” and then by “Stepping into management”.

The agreement was signed by Ismail Albaidhani, IATA’s Head of Global Partnership & Learning Innovation who also leads IATA’s newly established Travel & Tourism unit, “This training partnership is the first among many new initiatives IATA is going to pursue with UFTAA for the benefit of the Travel & Tourism sector” Said Albaidhani.

UFTAA President, Mr Joe Borg Olivier thanked Mr AlBaidhani for his collaboration and assured him that UFTAA has always encouraged its membership to make use of this Career Path Programme. Mr Borg Olivier emphasized on the importance of education and encouraged new comers in the industry to take up such courses in order to acquire the necessary expertise and information that is required by this ever growing industry.
