Becky Rhodes, Deputy Associate Administrator, Office of Governmentwide Policy, Office of Travel, Transportation and Asset Management, U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), announced that the National Business Travel Association (NBTA) and its Government Travel Group (GTG) would assume management of the biennial National Travel Forum (NTF). The announcement was made at NTF 2006, being held in Los Angeles. NTF is the largest event designed specifically to meet the needs of government travel and relocation professionals.

“Under GSA leadership, NTF has continuously grown, offering the government travel and relocation community better networking and educational opportunities with each Forum” said Rhodes. “I am pleased to now hand the baton to NBTA. As a member of NBTA and chair of its GTG Advisory Board, I’ve seen the quality of NBTA events and educational content and am confident NTF will continue to flourish in the NBTA GTG environment.”

NBTA President & CEO, Suzanne Fletcher, said, “NBTA is honored to be given the opportunity to manage an event as important as NTF, and pleased to expand our relationship with the government travel and relocation community. We formed the NBTA GTG because we saw the important synergies between private-sector and government-sector travel management. With the addition of the NTF to the NBTA portfolio, we will be better positioned to capitalize on those synergies to the benefit of the entire travel management community, while maintaining the unique identity of NTF.”
