According to the results of 9 months of 2010 Russia showed a maximal growth in number of the tourists among the major countries-suppliers of the tourists to Cyprus. Such data was received from the Statistics Office of Cyprus. Thegrowthamountedtomorethan50% incomparisonwith2009. More than 191 thousand Russian citizens visited Cyrus during 9 months of 2010. This number is higher than during 12 months of 2008 and of 2009 as well.
Only the United Kingdom took the lead of Russia in 2010 and in 2009 as well in number of the tourists arriving to Cyprus. According to the results of 9 months of 2010, 47.2% of the British and 10.8% of the Russian tourists visited the island. The average duration of stay of the Russians amounted to 9.9 nights in 2010 (-0.4 nights in comparison with 2009). The Russians spend 911 Euros during one trip to Cyprus on the average; this indicator is for 200 Euros more than averaged indicator of the tourists from other countries.
