More than 1,200 exhibitors from all over the world have already confirmed their presence at WTM Latin America 2014, the tourism sector’s most international event on the American continent.
The expectation is that the final figure will be 1,300 exhibitors, 50 more than last year, contributing to the trade fair’s main objective: “to promote Latin America to the world and to bring the world to Latin America”. This event will start and take place between April 23rd and April 25th at the Transamerica Expo Center, in the city of São Paulo at the same time as the 41st Braztoa Business Meeting (the Brazilian Association of Tour Operators).
With participants from more than 60 countries, WTM Latin America will provide a comprehensive view of what is currently going on in the global tourism industry. Among the highlights of the trade fair are major tourism agencies, hotels and government organisations, global players from the technology market– such as Google, Facebook and TripAdvisor –, along with long-standing destinations such as Greece, which is the sponsoring country of this edition of WTM Latin America.
Representing the world’s major hotel chains will be Accor, Marriott, Hilton, Meliá, TrumpHotels and others. US retail outlets Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s and the Chic Outlet Shopping chain, which can be found in nine European cities, are also taking part.
Among the group of more than 50 exhibitors who are making their first appearance are the NTOs – National Tourism Organisations – of Peru, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and Slovenia, the hotel chain InterContinental Hotels (IHG), the car rental company Europcar and France’s Tourism Development Agency – Atout France. Also worthy of mention is the presence of the European Travel Commission (ETC), an organization made up of 33 national tourism organizations, which has been in existence for more than 65 years.
