airBaltic to launch direct flights from Frankfurt and Dortmund to Usedom Island

Starting May 9, 2015 airBaltic will fly once a week from Frankfurt and Dortmund to Heringsdorf, Usedom Island using Bombardier Q400 NextGen aircraft.

RIGA – For the summer season, the Latvian national airline airBaltic will launch two new direct routes linking Frankfurt and Dortmund with the sunny German Island of Usedom in the Baltic Sea, marking the first time the airline will offer direct flights between destinations both of which are outside of the Baltic States.

Christophe Viatte, Chief Commercial Officer: “The opening of these new routes linking Frankfurt and Dortmund with Usedom Island is an important occasion for airBaltic, as it paves the way for our expansion into the Baltic Sea region. In collaboration with our partners ArGe group we are delighted to offer this popular summer holiday destination to travellers from mainland Germany.”

Starting May 9, 2015 airBaltic will fly once a week from Frankfurt and Dortmund to Heringsdorf, Usedom Island using Bombardier Q400 NextGen aircraft. A check-in fee will not apply on these flights and passengers will be offered a complimentary drink, such as water/tea/coffee, and snack while on board.

In addition to several direct routes from Tallinn, Vilnius and soon Heringsdorf, airBaltic serves over 60 destinations from its home base in Riga, Latvia. From every one of these locations, airBaltic offers convenient connections Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, CIS and the Middle East.
