The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) is chipping in to support the relief efforts for the victims of the tsunami disaster.

CAAS is waiving airport charges at Changi and Seletar Airports for flights involved in the transportation of humanitarian relief supplies to the affected areas.

CAAS will be launching a drive to collect donations from the over 80,000 passengers who use Changi Airport daily. The amount collected will be donated to the Singapore Red Cross Society in aid of the tsunami victims. Collection points will be set up inside the airport. Aside from collecting donations from air travellers, CAAS staff have also contributed some S$22,000 towards the Singapore Red Cross Society`s fund-raising effort.
