Copa Airlines

The inspections are being performed by Copa Airlines’ technical operations professional, following the highest quality standards and once they are completed, the aircraft will be able to resume operations safely.

PANAMA CITY, PANAMA – Copa Airlines has received authorization for the 21 grounded aircraft to undergo the required inspection process following the Airworthiness Directive issued by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Copa Airlines is gradually reinstating flights that had previously been canceled, since yesterday, Thursday, January 25th, until returning to a full schedule on Sunday, January 28th. Additionally, the airline is providing new options for passengers whose itineraries have been affected:

  • Passengers who have confirmed a new travel itinerary can visit copa.com in the itinerary change option and choose a new flight at no additional charge if desired.
  • Passengers who have not yet confirmed a new travel itinerary after their original flight was affected can reactivate their travel plans by calling Copa’s call center or visiting a sales office, airport, or their travel agency.
  • Passengers whose tickets are already in the refund process and wish to travel will need to purchase a new ticket.

“We continue to encourage passengers to check the status of their flights on copa.com or the mobile app before heading to the airport. The safety of passengers and crew remains Copa Airlines’ top priority, and we appreciate the understanding of all parties involved as we work to normalize this situation.” says the airline.
