Copa Airlines celebrates 10 years of connecting Boston with Latin America

Copa Airlines marks a milestone in its history by connecting Boston to Panama City for the last 10 years via Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). Operating 8 weekly flights from Boston with its extensive network of routes in Latin America and the Caribbean, through the Hub of the Americas in Panama City.

BOSTON – Copa Airlines, a subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S.A., and a member of the global Star Alliance airline network, proudly celebrates 10 years of providing nonstop service from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) through the Hub of the Americas, located at the Tocumen International Airport, in Panama City, Panama.

Our continued partnership has offered a travel gateway from Boston to more than 55 Latin American and the Caribbean cities,” said David DeFossey, commercial regional manager for North America of Copa Airlines. “We thank the authorities at Boston Logan International Airport, our travel industry leaders, the community and partners for trusting Copa Airlines to continue connecting travelers with all of the Americas, while contributing to the tourism and economic development of the area.”

Copa Airlines started servicing the city of Boston on July 11, 2013. Now, in its 10th anniversary, the airline remains committed to connecting the Americas by offering more international destinations within Latin America than any other airline from any other hub in the region. All flights are operated by modern Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft, with the capacity to carry 16 passengers in business class and 144 in the main cabin.

“Copa has been a valuable member of the Boston Logan community for the last decade and their services have provided passengers access to beautiful destinations throughout Latin America and the Caribbean,” said Massport Aviation Director Ed Freni. “We thank them for their partnership and their commitment to ensuring the Commonwealth remains connected to the global economy.”

Boston is Copa Airlines’ eighth U.S. destination offering the fastest and most direct service to Panama City and other Latin American destinations. Known as a thriving economic and cultural center, Boston offers stunning architecture, rich history, and cultural attractions. It is also the home base of first-class educational institutions and business centers.

Copa Airlines provides a total of eight weekly flights from Boston Logan International Airport to Panama City, Panama. Flight CM312 departs BOS at 8:52 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, arriving at Copa’s Hub of the Americas at the Tocumen International Airport at 1:34 p.m. The CM705 afternoon flight operates on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays departing at 3:53 p.m. and arriving in Panama City, Panama at 8:31 p.m.

Currently, Copa Airlines connects more than 81 cities in 32 countries in North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean. The most on-time Airline in Latin America according to the OAG Punctuality League, continues to focus on offering world-class service connecting passengers through the Hub of the Americas in Panama City.
