ExcelAire announces addition of two global 5000 business jets to fleet

ExcelAire, one of the nation’s leading private jet charter firms, announced at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) convention that it is adding two Global 5,000 business jets to its fleet. The 16-seat Global 5,000 will be based in Columbus, Ohio, while the 13-seat Global 5000 will be based in the New York City metropolitan area, at MacArthur Airport in Islip.

At the NBAA show, ExcelAire’s 13-seat Global 5000 will be on static display at the Bombardier stand at DeKalb Peachtree Airport. In addition, ExcelAire will be exhibiting at the Shell booth 6403. NBAA 2010, America’s premier business aviation event, will be held on Oct. 19-21 at the Georgia World Congress Center and DeKalb Peachtree Airport.

The Bombardier Global 5000 is a super large business jet that is capable of flying directly from the United States to Europe at high speeds, close to 5,000 nautical miles (9,300 km) nonstop at Mach 0.80. The 16-seat Global 5000 has a 4,800-mile nonstop capability, while the 13-seat Global 5000 has a 5,200-mile nonstop capability, for longer trips.

The Global 5000’s cabin provides a comfortable and productive working environment. Both ExcelAire jets feature the latest in inflight communications, including WiFi, and are luxuriously furnished for an exceptionally quiet and comfortable flight.

"These ExcelAire jets are staffed with multiple flight crews, making even the most complex worldwide itineraries possible," said David Rimmer, executive vice president, ExcelAire. "For Midwest travelers, the Columbus base for the Global 5000 jet makes it easily accessible, and we are offering discounted repositioning for those traveling to the New York City area."

The Global 5000 at MacArthur Airport in Islip will join the New York City metropolitan area’s largest locally based Gulfstream fleet, including the ultra-long-range GV, G450, three GIV-SPs, five GIIIs and a G200. ExcelAire also operates numerous other aircraft including three Embraer Legacy 600s, Challenger 601, Falcon 50, Hawker 850XP and two cabin class helicopters.
