Montenegro welcomes new direct flight with easyJet

Summer also welcomed the opening of the Kotor Cable Car connecting the coastal town of Kotor to Lovcen national park in just over 11 minutes and creating easy accessibility to one of Montenegro’s most scenic spots overlooking the Bay of Kotor.

Nestled in the heart of the Balkans, Montenegro is set to welcome a new wave of summer holidaymakers from the UK with the launch of a new, nonstop service from Bristol to the small coastal town of Tivat with easyJet. Launching on the 24th June until August 31st, the airline will operate twice weekly departures with Tivat departing on Mondays and Fridays with one-way fares starting from £58pp. Easyjet now serves the town of Tivat from three UK airports, including  Gatwick, Luton and Bristol.

Home to five national parks, 180 miles of coastline, verdant landscapes, beautiful beaches and magical mountains, 2024 also brings a host of new openings, events and reasons to visit. In addition to new airlift from easyJet, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will also launch a new service to Tivat from Birmingham Airport with flights operating a weekly Thursday service from 2nd May, with a second weekly service on Monday’s, coming into operation from 1st July until 31st October.

All-inclusive, luxury resort brand Rixos is set to open a new property in Bar, a coastal town located in the Southern region of the country south of Budva. The five-star hotel will offer all of its famous amenities in addition to opening up hundreds of job opportunities for locals in construction and hospitality. Crowne Plaza Kolašin is expected to open in November 2025. Located at the heart of the city centre of Kolasin, the 4-star luxury accommodation, set within 100 meters of the main town square, guests will be able to discover the town through its bars, restaurants and stores, whilst enjoying top level services, including transfers, exclusive tours, rental services and room service.

2023 saw many coveted new openings for Montenegro, from luxury accommodations on the coast, including Mamula Island Hotel built on a site of a former 19th century fort and the Hyatt Regency Kotor Bay Resort, to the country’s first luxury ski hotel, Swissôtel in the mountain resort town of Kolašin. Highlighting Montenegro as a key player in the European winter sports arena, the four-star hotel complex is positioned in the magnificent Bjelasica mountains within Biogradska Gora National Park.
