Riga Airport and Uzbekistan Airports to start cooperation in the field of aviation training

Riga Airport

Riga Airport is a fast-growing Northern European air traffic hub, connecting the Baltic countries with
European business centres and popular holiday destinations.

Riga Airport and the Uzbekistan airport operator Uzbekistan Airports have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of aviation training.

The Training Centre of Riga Airport accredited by the Airports Council International (ACI), expanding the export of training to Central Asia, will offer training on the basic processes of the airport to the aviation industry of Uzbekistan.

“Our accredited training programmes are created taking into account the specific needs of each region. The memorandum will promote both closer direct contacts with specialists of the Uzbek aviation industry and potential training participants, as well as strengthen the competitiveness of the Riga Airport Training Centre in the Central Asian region,” says Laila Odiņa, Chairperson of the Board of Riga Airport.

The memorandum of cooperation was signed on 2 November by Laila Odiņa, Chairperson of the Board of Riga Airport, and Javlonbek Umarkhojaev, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airports, within the framework of the international logistics exhibition “Trans Logistica” held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. Riga Airport participates in the Latvian stand provided by the Ministry of Transport of Latvia at the exhibition, taking advantage of the opportunity to expand training cooperation in Central Asia.
