As of the beginning of June 2005, Royal Jordanian decided to boost its weekly service to Kuwait, replacing the current six operating flights with daily flights. It will also increase its service to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to 12 times per week: six weekly flights to Jeddah, three to Riyadh and three to Dammam.

Vice President/Commercial Hussein Dabbas said the decision to increase the number of flights was taken in light of the growing demand for flights to the Gulf countries during the summer season, when Jordanian expatriates visit their families back home, and because the number of Gulf tourists coming to the Kingdom has been growing.

Royal Jordanian and Saudi Arabian Airlines signed an agreement under which the two airlines can operate more flights starting June 2005, said Dabbas. Royal Jordanian can thus fly four times weekly to Riyadh and seven times to Dammam, when necessary.

Dabbas declared that the number of reservations, according to capacity control figures, show that during the forthcoming summer the airline will witness greater demand than last summer which registered a record number of passengers onboard. In 2004, RJ carried 1.7 million passengers, an increase of 24 per cent over the previous year.
