British Airways and Ryanair passengers now able to drop luggage off the night before their flight.
Four airlines are now offering passengers the opportunity to drop their bags the day before their flight at Edinburgh Airport. British Airways and Ryanair are the two latest airlines to offer the Twilight Bag Drop service. Jet2.com and easyJet also offer this free service to passengers.
It means passengers on early morning flights can come to the airport the night before to check in bags, allowing them to head straight to security on the day of travel.
The different airlines will operate slightly different bag drop times:
|Airline||Days offered||Departure time||Bag drop hours|
|British Airways||Monday-Friday||Flights departing before 1200||1600-1900|
|easyJet||Monday-Sunday||Flights departing before 1200||1600-2100|
|Jet2.com||Monday-Sunday||Flights departing before 1200||1630-2100|
|Ryanair||Monday-Sunday||Flights departing before 0800||1700-2100|
Adam Wilson, Chief Operating Officer at Edinburgh Airport said: “Extending the Twilight Bag Drop service to passengers using all four of our busiest airlines is something we’ve been working on to help make the journey through the airport as smooth and efficient as possible.
“By checking-in bags the night before, it means passengers will be able to head straight to security and into the departures lounge. We’re glad to see this work with our airlines come to fruition and we hope passengers will take the chance to start their holiday off in a bit more of a relaxed fashion.”
