MILAN – United Airlines has extended its seasonal service from Milano Malpensa Airport to Chicago O’Hare for 2024, starting almost one month earlier. Customers from Italy can benefit from more time to visit Chicago and beyond to destinations across the Americas. United is the only carrier flying between Milan and Chicago and is offering more flights from Italy to Chicago than any other airline.

“We are delighted to extend our seasonal service from Milan to Chicago for the summer season this year, enabling our customers in Italy to book their next U.S. getaway even earlier,” said Walter Cianciusi, Country Sales Manager Italy, United Airlines. “For summer 2024, United will operate its largest-ever transatlantic summer schedule in its history, offering even greater travel choice and the possibility to connect seamlessly via our U.S. hubs to onward destinations across the Americas.

“The decision by United to serve two such significant gateways in the United States aligns perfectly with our airport’s strategy and fills us with particular satisfaction, bolstered by the impressive traffic results,” said Andrea Tucci, Vice President Aviation Business Development SEA Milan Airports. “The current extension of seasonality reflects the market’s enthusiastic response in Milan to the increased capacity to Chicago, resulting in a remarkable 70 per cent growth in passenger volumes compared to the same season pre-pandemic season.”

United’s extended seasonal service from Milano Malpensa to Chicago O’Hare will be operated with Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft configured with a total of 243 seats – 28 flat-bed seats with all aisle access in United Polaris business class, 21 seats in United Premium Plus and 194 seats in economy, including 36 Economy Plus seats with additional leg-room. The revolutionary design of the Dreamliner offers customers many features for increased comfort such as large windows, spacious overhead storage and modern LED lighting to simulate a full day, helping passengers adjust their internal clock on the trans-Atlantic flight. In addition, a lower cabin altitude, cleaner air and smoother ride help customers feel rested on arrival.

The extended seasonal service between Milan and Chicago builds on United’s existing year-round daily services from Milan to New York/Newark and between Rome and New York/Newark, as well as seasonal daily flights from Venice and Naples to New York/Newark and from Rome to Chicago, Washington Dulles and San Francisco. United is offering up to eleven daily nonstop services from Italy to the U.S. for Summer 2024.
