ROME – United Airlines has extended its seasonal services from Rome to Washington D.C., Chicago O’Hare and San Francisco for 2024. The airline’s nonstop service from Rome to Washington D.C. will operate almost year-round, starting almost two months earlier on 16 February 2024, extending through to 6 January 2025, and will increase from once to twice daily during the summer peak. Flights between Rome and Chicago will start over a month earlier on 8 March 2024 and Rome to San Francisco over a month earlier on 30 March 2024. Customers from Italy can benefit from more time and travel options to visit the U.S. and beyond to destinations across the Americas.

The extended seasonal services and additional flights from Rome to the U.S. will build on United’s existing year-round daily services from Rome and Milan to New York/Newark, as well as seasonal daily flights from Milan to Chicago O’Hare and from Venice and Naples to New York/Newark. United is offering up to eleven daily nonstop services from Italy to the U.S. for Summer 2024.

We are delighted to extend our seasonal services from Rome to the U.S. for summer 2024, enabling our customers in Italy to book their next U.S. getaway even earlier,” said Marcel Fuchs, Managing Director International Sales, United Airlines. “For summer 2024, United will operate its largest-ever transatlantic summer schedule in its history, offering even greater travel choice and the possibility to connect onwards via our U.S. hubs to other destinations across the Americas.”

“Aeroporti di Roma is pleased to announce United’s additional services on key destinations such as Newark, Washington D.C., Chicago O’Hare and San Francisco, further improving Rome’s connectivity with the United States and supporting the deseasonalization trend,” said Ivan Bassato, Chief Aviation Officer at Aeroporti di Roma. “This is evidence of the valuable and long lasting partnership with United, confirming the strong demand from North America which we are ready to welcome through the excellence offered by our airport rated 5 stars by SkyTrax.”

United’s expansion from to the U.S. underlines United’s leadership among U.S. airlines as the largest carrier across the Atlantic, flying nonstop from 38 transatlantic destinations for summer 2024, the most in its history and more destinations than all other U.S. carriers combined. United continues to be the only airline to directly connect the U.S. with Dubrovnik, Malaga, Mallorca and Tenerife. The airline’s 2024 summer schedule also includes new services from Faro to New York/Newark, Athens to Chicago O’Hare, Barcelona to San Francisco, the resumption of its seasonal Reykjavik-New York/Newark service, as well as additional flights from Brussels. United will also increase its summer seasonal Malaga-New York/Newark flight to daily service and will start the service earlier on 3 May 2024. Additionally, the airline will be resuming earlier some of its other most popular seasonal routes from Nice, Lisbon, Milan and Naples to give customers more time and flexibility to explore destinations across the U.S.
