Benefits of LED high bay light on our environment

If you’re looking for a cost-efficient, green, and quality alternative to your regular bulbs, try using a LED bulb today.

Light Emitting Diodes, commonly called LED or LED bulbs, is one of the most energy-efficient lighting technology. The energy sector contributes up to 40% of the global carbon footprint. This means that we need efficiency in the energy sector.

With our current technology, LED bulbs already save up to 75% of energy when compared to incandescent bulbs. When we consider the benefits, we and our environment can enjoy from this, getting an Industrial high bay light becomes the obvious choice.

How do LED bulbs benefit the environment

LED bulbs consume less energy
LED lights need significantly less energy to be bright, unlike other traditional luminaries. In some cases, LED Lights can save up to 80% on energy consumption thanks to their advanced lumen per watt rating. In simple terms, Watt is the energy that lights up bulbs. Fewer watts per bulb saves energy which means less energy is needed therefore reducing our production and pollution of the environment.

On a traditional bulb, you will need as much as 20 lumens per Watt. Lighting the bulb, in this case, will take many more watts so more lumens can light up. In a LED bulb, one Watt can light up as many as 100 lumens. With these energy-saving bulbs, users can cut down their power consumption.

Lepro offers a variety of LED lights that come in the form of UFO LED high bay lights, linear LED high bay lights, and strip lights.

LED lights have a longer lifespan
On average, a LED bulb can last between 40,000 to 50,000 hours of non-stop use. Hence, LED light bulbs to stay on for a whole year. An incandescent bulb, on the other hand, lasts an average of 2,000 hours or three months at most.

As we turn off our lights when they aren't necessary, we extend the lifespan of these LED bulbs. This means we'd go several years before they need to change a LED bulb. Because LED bulbs produce less heat, their components can last longer.

With greater longevity, there is a significant reduction in the need to produce or dispose of light bulbs.

LED light contains no LED elements
LED lights require no toxic elements. Most offices currently use fluorescent lights, which contain harmful chemicals like mercury. At the end of the lifecycle of these bulbs, they are poured into landfills, allowing mercury to pollute the environment.

The process for disposing chemicals like mercury properly must be done through a registered waste carrier which further complicates the process. Switching to LED bulbs removes the need for such extra measures. It saves time and cost while protecting the environment.
