Where is Brickell?
Brickell is a financial district located in Greater Downtown Miami. It is on Biscayne Bay and borders The Roads, Downtown, and Coconut Grove. Despite being a small neighbourhood that, it maximises excellent living, entertainment and commercial spaces with many high-rise buildings and skyscrapers. Brickell is an area that has long been associated with luxury living, and there are various low and mid-rise homes to the south of Broadway. Luxurious high-rise properties on ‘Millionaire’s Row’ are located to the east of Brickell Avenue. Some of the most luxurious properties in the city can be found here, including vacation rental properties from UpperKey.
Where is The Roads?
The Roads is a beautiful, residential neighbourhood in Miami. It is located between Brickell, the financial district in Downtown Miami, and Coconut Grove, a stunning bayfront village. The Roads is best-known for its charming properties, historic public schools, and the leafy, tree-lined streets. It was designed and developed in the early 1920s by Mary Brickell to be a pedestrian-friendly area with wide streets and roundabouts, surrounded by Miami’s native tropical plants. The area quickly became a prestigious Miami community and remains so to this day.

Staying in Brickell
Brickell is one of the hottest neighbourhoods in Miami. For those planning to stay here, there are lots of things to see and do. It was not that long ago that the financial district that borders Biscayne Bay and is to the south of the Miami River was a ghost town at night. Young professionals were moving out of the area for more exciting environments, but these days, there are fewer reasons to leave the neighbourhood. Brickell City Centre is home to various upscale stores including Kendra Scott and Saks Fifth Avenue. Over South Miami Avenue, there is a walkway linking the multi-story shopping complex with underground parking. You can also find two awesome food halls, or head to Mary Brickell Village, where you can find a range of restaurants, shops, and bars, often with live music.

If you are planning your next trip, here are some great reasons to find Miami accommodation from UpperKey.
Great weather all year around
In Miami, you are in the tropics, which means that the temperatures rarely drop below 24 degrees C. South Florida does occasionally get some cold spells during January and February, but the winters are typically quite mild. During the winter months is actually quite a popular time to visit Miami, since the humidity is low.
There is no shortage of beaches in Miami and each one is known for something special. Ocean Drive and Seventh Street on Miami beach is the perfect spot for that party beach you’ve seen on MTV, or you can head over to Crandon Park in Key Biscayne and rent paddleboards, snorkelling equipment, and kayaks for a fun day with family or friends. You will find a gay beach on Ocean Drive and 12th Street, and South of Fifth’s South Pointe Park is a hotspot for photographers and TV crews thanks to the stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Miami Beach skyline.
When you visit Miami, you’re in close proximity to the stunning ecosystems in Florida. Whether you are travelling for work or leisure, consider taking a day trip to the Everglades, where you can get an airboat ride through mangroves and get up close to the famous Florida alligators. Florida Keys is another excellent place to visit, home to fifteen protected marine sanctuaries and starting just thirty minutes from the southernmost point of Miami. For those looking to explore even further, you can be on the west coast of Florida in less than two hours, where you can find Less County Manatee Park, home to one of the biggest concentrations of endangered Florida manatees. For those staying in Brickell and The Roads, nearby Biscayne National Park protects more than five hundred species of Neotropical water birds, reef fish, coral reefs and other endangered species and is a key part of the stunning underwater ecosystems in south Florida.
