BIT – Borsa Internazionale Tourismo

Bit 2010 – despite the crisis, it is still a feast for travel.

Bit has been confirmed as the biggest Italian tourism exhibition and among the most important fairs for the world’s tourism industry, with a complete overview of the best international products in this sector.

An annual event, held in Milano, which is anticipated by Italian as well as many European travel and tourism professionals and travelers to see first hand the range of tourism destinations all over the world. With 140 countries exhibiting in Bit (2009 edition), that’s an easy thing to do!

5.000 exhibitors in 57.000 square meters can meet with 153.800 visitors, out of which 101.000 are professional operators (nearly 20.000 from 150 countries!) and 52.800 travelers plus 3.400 journalists!

Bit is held in 8 pavilions, with three thematic areas:

  • Italy – all Italian tourist products: entities, regions, provinces, municipalities, consortiums and operators
  • The world – a complete panorama of the international offer
  • Tourism Collection – tour operators, cruise operators, travel agents, hotel chains, air, maritime and rail carriers, rental and services companies

Apart from the above, the Bit workshops always provide great b2b opportunities. The Bit 2010 showcases 4 workshops:

  • Buy Italy – in its 25th edition, it is the most important workshop for Italian tourism products, an event which is a meeting point for 2.200 sellers and 540 international buyers from 55 countries.
  • Buy Club International – is entirely dedicated to Buyers from the association’s tourism industry. It’s an event capable of catalyzing out of season tourist demand. 300 selected national and international sellers, 160 italian and international buyers from 11 countries.
  • Bit Itinera – it’s the first workshop dedicated to Religious tourism in which 80 national and international tour operators, diocesan representatives, parish helpers, catholic associations and company clubs meet 220 sellers, among which: organizations specialized in pilgrimages, religious centers, places of worship, holiday houses, youth hostels and B&B, hotels, diocesan social centers and museums.
  • Buy World – workshop dedicated to the international tourism offer and demand where 100 operators from South-East Asia and 200 Tour Operators and Travel Agents will be able to further develop their incoming and outgoing business. The 140 exhibiting countries at Bit will be present.

Additionally and on pace with a radically changing environment Bit will showcase the latest developments in Bit Technology, a section dedicated in the world of technology for tourism on and off-line, CRS, HRS and on-line tour operators.

Last but not least, the Travel & Food Tourism is an event dedicated to good food and quality tourism products, to complete the comprehensive offer of this large fair !

On top of all the above, Bit is not just an annual event but rather a large community that goes on doing business all year round with the assistance of Bit Expopage, Bit Channel, Bit News, Bit Press Office and Bit Web!

Obviously, there’s a little “Bit” of everything in this event that goes for more than 25 years now but still remains what it always was: a feast for travel!
